Brown Fused Alumina is electrically fused in an arc furnace form a mixture of bauxite, coke (anthracite) as main raw materials at high temperature. Its chemical composition contains AL2O3, TiO2, a small amount of SiO2 and Fe2O3, etc. micro-hardness: 1800-2200kg/mm2, toughness: higher than silicon carbide. Abrasive articles made of it are suited for grinding metals of high-tensile strength such as steel, annealed malleable iron and hard high-class refractory products.
